Volunteer
Global Language Project is always looking for volunteers to help with our programs. Here are some ways in which you can get involved:
Language Exploration Guides:
Professionals go directly into the classroom or host a field trip to share their global experiences (language and culture) with our students. This provides an opportunity for students to explore and learn more about the real-world rewards and benefits of knowing a second language. Please contact asantos@glpny.org to see how we can tailor this opportunity to you.
Different models include:- Mentoring: Provide motivation to students through serving as a mentor at one of our partner schools in New York.
- Guest speaking: Volunteer to serve as a guest speaker for one of our classes.
- Workshops: Prepare a cultural workshop to actively engage students in the target culture (this can be a one day-10 week event).

Internships:
Students partner with GLP in a semester long internship gaining valuable experience in the non-profit educational sector.
Event Volunteers:
Currently we are recruiting volunteers for our second annual benefit gala, My Dream Speaks. Click here to see the details for this opportunity on April 11, 2013.
GLP Consultants:
Professionals from the corporate sector provide pro-bono consulting in the critical areas of public relations, marketing, law, HR, finance, IT, translation, and curriculum writing.
Please contact asantos@glpny.org if you are interested in this opportunity.
GLP Elementary Program Assistants:
GLP offers language programs in Spanish, Arabic, Mandarin, and French to students grades K - 5. Volunteers assist teachers with daily classroom activities, as well as help teachers to prep materials for class. Volunteers should have knowledge of Arabic, French, Mandarin, or Spanish.
Time Commitment: One class per week for 10 weeks. Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays during the school year (September – June).
