FAQs

Can I register my child directly for the After-school Language Program?

Students can only apply for the After-school Language Program if their school is a Partner School. In addition, only students in select elementary grades are allowed to apply for participation in the Program according to each Partner School. Currently, only P.S. 368 Hamilton Heights School in Harlem, NY is a Partner School.

How can my child's school be considered for the After-school Language Program?

Public schools must first apply to become a Partner School for the After-school Language Program. Once a school becomes a Partner School, it can only then allow its students in select elementary grades to be considered for the Program. If you have a school that you would like to recommend for consideration, please send an email to us at info@globallanguageproject.org.

How do you select the languages for the Program?

We select languages based on global prominence (i.e. Spanish), along with others designated as Super Critical Needs Languages by the US Department of State, such as Arabic (Modern Standard, Egyptian, and Iraqi), Chinese (Mandarin), Dari, Farsi, Hindi, and Urdu.
